At Polotsk University, I have been responsible for teaching such disciplines as Sociology, Research Methodology, and Mass Communications, and for supervising Bachelors' and Masters' theses, including theses in the English language. To date, 25 of my articles have been included in the 'Scopus' database (mainly in English). In the last 5 years, I presented my papers at international academic conferences in Argentina, Albania, Belarus, Lithuania, Romania, Russia, Poland, UK and USA.

I was employed as a Regional Coordinator in the UNDP/DANIDA Project ‘Strengthening Inclusive Local Governance in the Republic of Belarus’. My responsibilities included: --Drafting analytical documents, related to the UNDP activities in Belarus (within the framework of the Project); --Maintaining contacts with local authorities, NGOs and educational institutions; --Assisting in conducting sociological surveys (including drafting the questionnaire); --Translation from Russian into English and vice versa.

As a full-time Reader, I am responsible for giving lectures and holding seminars. This includes such subjects as Theory and Practice of Translation, Professional Culture, and Business English. Previously, I taught Economic Sociology, Sociology of Labour, Sociology of Organisations, Management in Intellectual Property, Management of Personnel, Marketing in Tourism, Geo-economics of Tourism, Philosophy and Research Methodology. In addition, I am doing academic research in the area of European integration, politics and religion. Its significance was recognised by a number of research grants, obtained in the last three years, including the ones from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), School of Young Managers in Public Administration (SYMPA) and the Open Society Foundation. My research projects were carried out in Great Britain, Germany, Romania and Estonia, with the publication of results in the international peer-reviewed journals. I am an author of two books in the Russian language: (1) ‘Religiya i evropeiskaya integratsiya: vzaimodeistviye tserkvei s uchrezhdeniyami Evropeiskogo Souza’ [Religion and European integration: the interaction of Churches with the institutions of the European Union], 182 pages. Baranovichi, 2015 and (2) ‘Pravoslavie v Evrope: svidetelstva nashikh dnei’ [Orthodox Christianity in Europe: testimonies of our days], 376 pages. Minsk, 2013. My book in English-- ‘Christian Churches in European Integration’ (192 pages) was published by the UK-US academic publisher ‘Routledge’ in 2016 (see https://www.routledge.com/products/9781472474810 ). In addition, I have contributed to the international English-language peer-reviewed journals, such as ‘Journal for Contemporary European Research’, ‘Journal of Religion in Europe’ and ‘Journal of Church and State’.

•I completed and defended Doctoral thesis in Social Sciences at Salford University (full-time research; I was resident in Manchester, UK for more than three years). This PhD thesis investigates the interaction between the European Union and Christian Churches. •This research required me to study extensively a number of important documents, including the EU directives and other official and non-official publications. •I also conducted 25 in-depth academic interviews with the representatives of EU institutions and Christian Churches. •During a period of research, I presented some preliminary findings at six international conferences, held in the UK, France, Hungary, Iceland and Finland.

•As a full-time University lecturer, I gave lectures, held seminars and supervised students’ research. •I taught such courses as Cross-cultural communication and British and American studies (Country studies). All teaching was in English. •Previously, as a part-time lecturer in 2001-2003, I taught various economic disciplines and religious studies. The economic disciplines included Foundational Course in Business, Management and Marketing. •It was also my duty to draft syllabus and to publish articles. I left the lecturer's job in Baranovichi in August 2008, after obtaining highly competitive scholarship for a full-time PhD research at the University of Salford (UK).

•Writing articles and feature stories on international, economic, political and religious themes. •Preparation of interviews and news items. •The journalist’s work required regular contacts with governmental authorities, NGO, commercial entities and similar organisations for the purposes of collecting necessary material and organising interviews. •As a journalist, I interviewed some high-profile individuals, including Members of the British Parliament (House of Commons and House of Lords).

•Writing articles and feature stories. •Whilst working as Deputy Editor, I was responsible for the defining the newspaper’s policy (especially its international and political sections) and supervising the journalists’ work. •I needed to identify the key areas of interest for the newspaper’s readers, and to assign appropriate tasks to the journalists. •My achievements were recognised by the European Commission, which awarded me a special grant in June, 2002 to attend Advanced Training in Practical Journalism in Cardiff, UK. Later on, I acquired recognition from the UK FCO, which awarded me a prestigious Chevening scholarship for Masters Studies at Warwick University, UK.

•Coordination of the contacts with the governmental institutions, Non-governmental organisations and mass-media. •I often needed to negotiate with government officials at different levels, to ensure the smooth running of this NGO.

•Preparing policy documents on various issues of economic and social development. •Analysis of legislative proposals and preparation of opinions/amendments. •I was responsible for the MP’s correspondence with governmental and diplomatic institutions. •I was also responsible for translation and interpreting, including the high-level meetings (with the Government Ministers and Chairs of Parliamentary Committees).
